Nikolay Tymun

Nikolay Tymun (born in 1940) – a Hero of Socialist Labor, a member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, a laureate of Petrash Prize, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine, an Honorary Worker of the Navy, Holder of the Order of Red Banner, the famous Brigadier self-supporting integrated brigade of Odesa port.

 

After military service in the Soviet army Nikolay in 1963 came to work in the port of Odesa as a docker. In 1971, he led the team № 208 (14 dockers) operating on the 14th berth.

 

Dockers of the 208th Brigade unloaded ships and loaded wagons such with extremely fast not. Leningrad foremen, dockers from Varna and other ports came to Tymun to gain experience. Once was estimated that for the year on account of 208th Brigade was 139 records of handling works.

On July 20, 1984 was released the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on conferment Nikolay Tymun the title of Hero of Socialist Labor awarding with  the Order of Lenin and the Gold medal "Hammer and Sickle".

 

In consequence N.Tymun was transferred to the stevedoring company "Petreks" as a stevedore, and later as the Deputy Head of Operational Complex.

 

Currently, Nikolay works as the Senior Stevedore at "Novotech Terminal".
